Report

Denham this week were back away at Beecholme belles, they were hoping to avenge a 6-1 defeat by Beecholme a fortnight ago. There were a few changes to the line up notably Ellen starting in goal with Georgia moving up front.
The game started midday and both teams began the game sharing possession equally. Beecholme who had impressed previously created the first chance of the game in about the 5th minute. Once again Denham lost possession cheaply in midfield, Beecholme attacked quickly before finishing leaving Ellen with no chance 1-0 Beecholme.
Denham needed to start to impose themselves on the game but it was beecholme who done this in similar fashion to their previous game dominating midfield before passing their way through Denham far too easily to go2-0 up.
The Denham girls managed a spirited fight back after, with Georgia unlucky not to be awarded a penalty after being clattered in the box when lining up a shot. Calleigh also went close from a corner and Gemma got a shot away which was saved.
Beecholme added further misery for the away team late in the first half with another clinical finish 3-0 Beecholme.
Beecholme started the second half swapping their impressive midfielder(also goal scorer) into goal and probably looked to add to their tally, but the Denham girls buckled down to their task second half dominating possession, but they could not breakdown the resilient Beecholme.
Sadie came close through a corner and Calleigh hit the post from a throw in, gemma also had an effort tipped over from a powerful shot. The girls deserve praise for their second half display but need to play like that for the full 60 minutes of the match.
There were some solid performances from the girl’s especially second half with Calleigh at the back doing well and coming closest for Denham and also Sadie continuing to improve leaps and bounds when coming on as a second half substitute.
The player of the match went to Lauren D who worked hard on the left hand side looking to get in behind Beecholme.
Well done to Beecholme who effectively won the game in the first half
